This week, ten students from Leeds City College took part in a one day Post Production Boot Camp at True North Post. The session, designed by Head of True North Post, Andrew Lurcuck, gave the students a valuable insight into the world of post production from ingest, media management and editing, through to online and dub. Using the previous program example of Top Guns: Inside the RAF, the students gained first hand experience of working with real world media, using industry standard AVID Media Composer and Pro Tools. Andrew Lurcuck said "It's a really important time for BTEC students to decide whether they want to progress with their studies and make the jump to a university course. We hope that spending a day in a real post production facility gave them an idea of the direction they'd like to take their career". This week has also seen the True North Post's Junior Editors undertake their next training module. Delivered by our Senior Editors, who are all qualified Avid Media Composer Instructors; the aim for our students is to achieve their professional Avid User Certification, via a series of workshops and exams.
